What information do we collect?

Bixlr collect complete details on each type of data collected are provided in the dedicated sections of this privacy policy or through specific information texts displayed before the data is collected.


Personal Data may be freely provided by the User or, in the case of Usage Data, collected automatically during the use of Bixlr Products. Unless otherwise specified, all data required by Bixlr Products are mandatory. In cases where Bixlr Products indicates some Data as optional, Users are free to refrain from communicating such Data, without this having any consequence on the availability of the Service or on its operation.


Users who have doubts about which data are mandatory are encouraged to contact the [email protected].

The types of information we collect depend on how you use our Products.You can learn how to access and delete information we collect by visiting your account profile settings.

  • Information and content you provide. 
    • We collect the content: communications and other information you provide when you use our Products, including when you sign up for an account, create or share content, and message or communicate with others. This can include information in or about the content you provide (like metadata), such as the location of a photo or the date a file was created. It can also include what you see through features we provide. Our systems automatically process content and communications you and others provide to analyze context and what's in them.
    • Data with special protections: You can choose to provide information in your Bixlr profile fields or Life Events about your religious views, political views, who you are "interested in," or your health. This and other information (such as racial or ethnic origin, philosophical beliefs or trade union membership) could be subject to special protections under the laws of your country.
    • Networks and connections: We collect information about the people, accounts, hashtags, products, trades, money transfers, groups and Pages you are connected to and how you interact with them across our Products, such as people you communicate with the most or groups you are part of. We also collect contact information if you choose to upload, sync or import it from a device (such as an address book or call log history), which we use for things like helping you and others find people you may know and for the other purposes listed below.
    • Your usage: We collect information about how you use our Products, such as the types of content you view or engage with; the features you use; the actions you take; the people or accounts you interact with; and the time, frequency and duration of your activities. For example, we log when you're using and have last used our Products, and what posts, videos and other content you view on our Products.
    • Information about transactions made on our Products: If you use our Products for purchases or other financial transactions (such as when you make a purchase in a game or make a donation), we collect information about the purchase or transaction. This includes payment information, such as your credit or debit card number and other card information; other account and authentication information; and billing, shipping and contact details.
       
    • Things others do and information they provide about you. We also receive and analyze content, communications and information that other people provide when they use our Products.   • Device Information
    • As described below; we collect information from and about the computers, phones, connected TVs and other web-connected devices you use that integrate with our Products, and we combine this information across different devices you use. For example, we use information collected about your use of our Products on your phone to better personalize the content or features you see when you use our Products on another device, such as your laptop or tablet, or to measure whether you took an action in response to an ad we showed you on your phone on a different device.
    • Information we obtain from these devices includes:
      • Device attributes: information such as the operating system, hardware and software versions, battery level, signal strength, available storage space, browser type, app and file names and types, and plugins.
      • Device operations: information about operations and behaviors performed on the device, such as whether a window is foregrounded or backgrounded, or mouse movements (which can help distinguish humans from bots).
      • Data from device settings: information you allow us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as access to your GPS location, camera or photos.
      • Network and connections: information such as the name of your mobile operator or ISP, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address, connection speed and, in some cases, information about other devices that are nearby or on your network, so we can do things and help you stream a video from your phone to your TV.
      • Cookie data: data from cookies stored on your device, including cookie IDs and settings.

How do we use personal information?

We use the information we have (subject to choices you make) as described below and to provide and support the Meta Products and related services described in Bixlr. Here's how:

We use the information we have to deliver our Products, including to personalize features and content (including your ads, News Feed and your offered products/services) and make suggestions for you (such as groups or events you may be interested in or topics you may want to follow) on our Products. To create personalized Products that are unique and relevant to you, we use your connections, preferences, interests and activities based on the data we collect and learn from you and others (including any data with special protections you choose to provide); how you use and interact with our Products; and the people, places, or things you're connected to and interested in on and off our Products.   • Information across Bixlr Products and devices: We connect information about your activities on different Bixlr Products and devices to provide a more tailored and consistent experience on all of our Products you use, wherever you use them. For example, we can suggest that you join a group that includes people you follow on Bixlr Academy or communicate with using Messenger. We can also make your experience more seamless, for example, by automatically filling in your registration information (such as your phone number) from one Bixlr Product when you sign up for an account on a different Product.
     
  • Location-related information: We use location-related information-such as your current location, where you live, the places you like to go, and the businesses and people you're near-to provide, personalize and improve our Products, including ads, for you and others. Location-related information can be based on things like precise device location (if you've allowed us to collect it), IP addresses, and information from your and others' use of all our Products (such as check-ins or events you attend).
     
  • Product research and development: We use the information we have to develop, test and improve our Products, including by conducting surveys and research, and testing and troubleshooting new products and features.
     
  • Ads and other sponsored content: We use the information we have about you-including information about your interests, actions and connections-to select and personalize ads, offers and other sponsored content that we show you.

Any use of Cookies - or of other tracking tools - by Bixlr Products or by the owners of third party services used by Bixlr Products, unless otherwise specified, has the purpose of providing the Service requested by the User, in addition to further purposes described in this document and in the Cookie Policy, if available.

The User assumes responsibility for the Personal Data of third parties obtained, published or shared through Bixlr Products and guarantees to have the right to communicate or disseminate them, freeing the Owner from any liability to third parties.

Method and place of processing of the collected data


Processing methods:

  • The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or destruction of Personal Data.
  • The processing is carried out using IT and / or telematic tools, with organizational methods and with logic strictly related to the purposes indicated. Legal basis of the processing:

  • The Data is processed at the Data Controller's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. For further information, please contact the Data Controller.
  • The User's Personal Data may be transferred to a country other than that in which the User is located. To obtain further information on the place of processing, the User can refer to the section relating to the details on the processing of Personal Data.
  • The User has the right to obtain information regarding the legal basis for the transfer of Data outside the European Union or to an international organization governed by public international law or consisting of two or more countries, such as the UN, as well as regarding the security measures adopted by the Data Controller to protect the Data.

Retention period

The Data are processed and stored for the time required by the purposes for which they were collected.

Therefore:

  • Personal Data collected for purposes related to the execution of a contract between the Owner and the User will be retained until the execution of this contract is completed.
  • Personal Data collected for purposes related to the legitimate interest of the Data Controller will be retained until this interest is satisfied. The User can obtain further information regarding the legitimate interest pursued by the Owner in the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the Owner.


When the processing is based on the User's consent, the Data Controller may keep the Personal Data longer until such consent is revoked. Furthermore, the Data Controller may be obliged to keep Personal Data for a longer period in compliance with a legal obligation or by order of an authority.

At the end of the retention period, the Personal Data will be deleted. Therefore, at the end of this term the right of access, cancellation, rectification and the right to data portability can no longer be exercised.

User rights

Users can exercise certain rights with reference to the Data processed by the Data Controller.

In particular, the User has the right to:

Further information on the treatment
The User's Personal Data may be used by the Owner in court or in the preparatory stages for its eventual establishment for the defense against abuse in the use of Bixlr Products or related Services by the User.
The User declares to be aware that the Owner may be obliged to disclose the Data by order of the public authorities.

Specific information
At the request of the User, in addition to the information contained in this privacy policy, Bixlr Products may provide the User with additional and contextual information regarding specific Services, or the collection and processing of Personal Data.

System log and maintenance
For needs related to operation and maintenance, Bixlr Products and any third party services used by it may collect system logs, which are files that record the interactions and which may also contain Personal Data, such as the User IP address.

Bixlr Products does not support "Do Not Track" requests.

User

Data Controller (or Owner)
